Highlights

The most important religious monument of the westernmost part of the Rye Island is the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Cross rom the 13th century. It is one of the most important brick romanesque buildings of sacral architecture in Slovakia. Its present form is the result of several modifications during baroque period and also in the 19th and 20th centuries. Especially unique is the fresco decoration from the second half of the 14th century. It consists gothic murals with motifs of old church symbols.
