Highlights

The oasis is located in the protected area of Slovak nature near the town of Senec, less than 3 kilometres from the village Kostolná pri Dunaji.

One of the projects created for the protection of the Siberian/Ussurian tiger is a Slovak project called Oasis of the Siberian Tiger. Its main goal is to save at least one population of the Siberian/Ussurian tiger from extinction, so that their offspring will contribute to maintaining the genetic balance of the global breeding of these rare and protected animals.

The construction of this facility began in 1999. Today, eighteen beautiful and healthy tigers are being bred here, sixteen of which were born in this oasis.

The tigers have undergone DNA testing and have been implanted with microchips as ordered by the Ministry of Environment. They love whipped cream and a being able to take a photo with them is unforgettable experience.
