On the basis of Act NR SR No. 546/2010 Coll., which amended the Civil Code, it was introduced with effect from 1 January 2011 in cases defined by law mandatory publication of contracts as a condition for their effectiveness. The amendment should ensure a higher degree of transparency and also a more economical handling of public property and public funds. As part of this amendment, Act No. 211/2000 Coll. on free access to information.
Compulsorily published contract is defined in the law as a written contract concluded by an obliged person and which contains information obtained with public funds or related to the use of public funds, handling of state property, municipal property, property of a higher territorial unit or property of established legal entities by law, on the basis of the law or the handling of European Union funds.
